PLEASE READ THIS SECTION AND THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS CAREFULLY AND IN FULL PRIOR TO APPLYING
Taking place on September 30th, 2023 at beSocial Charlotte (1519 Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC), the SPARK Business Pitch Competition is designed to provide a platform for Black and minority entrepreneurs of Charlotte, NC to showcase their innovative ideas, creativity, and passion for their businesses.
The panel from CLT Impact Investors includes successful entrepreneurs, industry experts, and investors who are passionate about supporting diverse businesses. They will evaluate each pitch based on criteria such as the strength of the business idea, market potential, revenue and growth projections, team capability, and overall presentation.
The competition is now open for applications until September 8th, 2023 from all qualifying businesses who meet the following requirements:
– The business should be for-profit and generating revenue from the sales of its products and/or services for at least 1 year as of the date of application.
– There is no minimum required revenue for consideration but the business must have product and/or services already and currently being delivered and served to the marketplace. Prototypes are an exception but must be operational for presentation and consideration.
– The business should not have raised any dilutive funding as of the date of application. Dilutive funding is any kind of funding that requires you to give away a piece of your company, including not only future profits, but possibly control.
ALL SELECTED APPLICANTS WILL BE NOTIFIED BY 9.22 AND INVITED TO PRESENT THEIR PITCH AT BESOCIAL CHARLOTTE ON 9.30.
Only completed written applications that meet all requirements will be accepted and reviewed. If you are selected upon review of your presentation, you will be invited to present a 5-minute pitch in front of the Committee and a live audience.
All Black and minority-owned small businesses of Charlotte, NC are encouraged to apply, regardless of industry or stage of development. This competition is about empowering and uplifting underrepresented entrepreneurs, so all perspectives and visions for your business are welcome.
